The AT77C103 can be seen as the integrated version of the FCDEMO4: the USB interface was directly integrated on-chip (isochronous interface to insure a stable acquisition in time), thus reducing the cost. 8x248 pixels.
In 2002, the chip worked at the first maskset, but has never been released in production, although successfully approved by Intel: Biometric User Authentication Fingerprint Sensor Product Evaluation Summary / version 1.02 nov 2003 / chapter 2.1 --> alternate link.
Some demonstration units have been done, using the same design as the ID3's Certis (or Bioki).
