The mini-clone was a smaller version of the AT77C102: there were only 128 pixels compared to the 280 pixels of the regular version. This was much less expensive!
This version has never been released, because we found that the recognition results were too bad, confirmed on many different algorithms: width is not large enough for a good recognition. This was a confirmation of our study:

That said, competition released such kind of small sensors. Likely with bad results for FRR/FAR compared to "normal" width.
